Last Night Your Mate Danced Like A Tree

Hobusepea Gallery, Tallinn, Estonia
Oct. 2 – 13, 2014

“Last Night Your Mate Danced Like A Tree”, a site-specific installation by Laura Põld, was designed for the two spaces of Hobusepea Gallery. The title was borrowed from the book “Last Night a DJ Saved My Life: The History of the Disc Jockey” by Bill Brewster. Techno-tracks created by Mihkel Maripuu added dance vibes to the visually stimulating experience of a staged club setting. The floor-to-ceiling theatrical textile objects reminiscent of curtains were there with no further explanation given. It was possible to enter some of the curtain-objects, browse through and take home prints of digital renderings of foldings and drawings of the curtains.
